Martek: Beautiful Minds

Also tagged , , ,

Working alongside the fine folks at 14Four, I developed several Flash modules for a Martek Biosciences partner site called “Beautiful Minds.” These modules were built in AS3, with the content driven via XML. Tek-Innovations provides plexiglass services to customize your arcade “fight stick.” What? You don’t have a fight stick? That’s okay. You can still enjoy the fancy flash interface. Customers can design their own layouts, which are stored using SVG data into a database, and are ultimately laser-cut and delivered to their door. Not bad for a SWF file under 100k, huh?

The party might be over, but The Honda Ski Tour lives on. During the winter of 2006, we kicked off the inaugural event with a trip into a Ski Bum’s cabin- complete with green screen video, a customizable audio playlist and cameos from some of the sport’s finest athletes. Check out the load bar messages if you want to know what the festival was like.
