Martek: Beautiful Minds

Also tagged , , ,

Working alongside the fine folks at 14Four, I developed several Flash modules for a Martek Biosciences partner site called “Beautiful Minds.” These modules were built in AS3, with the content driven via XML. Be sure to play around with the 3D Brain Health feature, and ask yourself… can HTML5 do that? (spoiler: the answer is no)

Arcade Panel Builder

Tek-Innovations provides plexiglass services to customize your arcade “fight stick.” What? You don’t have a fight stick? That’s okay. You can still enjoy the fancy flash interface. Customers can design their own layouts, which are stored using SVG data into a database, and are ultimately laser-cut and delivered to their door. Not bad for a SWF file under 100k, huh?

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Also tagged , ,

As a mini site, the Gift Guide is linked from both ad campaigns and the main Valentine’s Day 2010 movie site. I developed the interface in collaboration with designers at HZDG. By selecting either “him” or “her” the user is presented with several choices which result in a V-Day gift selection. Localization was a requirement for this project, so the text in Flash is styled almost entirely in CSS.

Erkiletian Real Estate

By making use of the FIVe3D library, I built several 3D Flash components for this Alexandria, VA based real estate firm. You can imagine my disappointment, however when I realized this project did not involve the legendary Erkel himself. I think the flash modules turned out pretty nice anyway, though.

Aquilent Enterprise Solutions

In collaboration with HZDG, I was tasked with adding two interactive modules to Aquilent’s corporate site. Using FIVe3D, I was able to provide the client with an innovative and attractive way to present their message. Both home and secondary features are driven via XML for ease of maintenance.

Papervision Page Turn Demo

Also tagged ,

I was checking out some Papervision3D stuff a few months back, and I thought it would be fun to adapt Lee Felarca’s page curl effect into something a bit more fleshed out. This demo also makes use of PV3D’s InteractivePlane feature, which allows us to create buttons on the 3D book’s pages. Thanks Lee!

Dan Wheldon: IRL Driver

2005 Indy 500 Champion. Wheldon needed a heavy-hitting site to make sure he was one step ahead of the pack. In collaboration with the team at Wirestone, I contributed in the areas of design, development, animation and audio production to ensure DW would (literally) stand out.
